Albanian Banks' End-July Loan Portfolio Rises 17.4% Y/Y

September 17 (SeeNews) - The loan portfolio of commercial banks in Albania amounted to some 419.2 billion leks ($4.63 billion/3.14 billion euro) at the end of July, 17.4% up from a year earlier, central bank statistics indicated.

On a monthly basis the banks' July credit portfolio was 1.0% lower.

At the end of 2008 the banks’ credit portfolio totalled 396.3 billion leks, 35% up on the year.
