The T-bills, which the central bank offers on behalf of the Finance Ministry, mature on April 16, 2009. Albania's six-month T-bills produced a weighted average yield of 7.31% at an auction held on September 23, down from 7.34% achieved at an auction held on September 9.
The yields of three-, six- and 12-month T-bills have been falling since August. The highest yield achieved this year in six-month T-bills was 7.51% in April and the lowest was 7.24% in January.
The Bank of Albania (www.bankofalbania.org) has auctioned 290.7 billion leks in T-bills since the beginning of the year. Last year it auctioned T-bills worth 386.83 billion leks in par value. In 2006 it sold 460.13 billion leks worth of T-bills, compared to 465.2 billion leks in 2005.
