December 28 (SeeNews) - Albania's central bank said on Monday it will auction 21.46 billion leks ($224.6 million/156 million euro) in three-month and twelve-month Treasury bills on December 29.
The Bank of Albania, which offers the government securities on behalf of the Finance Ministry, will auction 13.2 billion leks in three-month T-bills and 8.26 billion leks on 12-month T-bills.
The three-month T-bills will mature on April 1 and the 12-month government paper will mature on December 30, 2010.
Albania's three-month T-bills produced a weighted average yield of 6.3% in the last auction held on December 22, down from 6.31% at the previous auction on December 2. The central bank offered for sale 2.0 billion leks but sold 1.3 billion leks.
The twelve-month T-bills produced a weighted average yield of 9.14% in the last auction held on December 15, down from 9.22% in the previous auction on December 2.
The Bank of Albania has auctioned Treasury bills worth 366.52 billion leks since the beginning of this year. It auctioned T-bills worth 373 billion leks in par value last year, compared to 386.83 billion leks in 2007.
