The central bank, which auctions government securities on behalf of the Finance Ministry, will offer 8.5 billion leks worth of six-month T-bills, maturing in May 2009, and 6.1 billion leks in twelve-month T-bills maturing in November, 2009.
Yields on Albanian six-month T-bills have been falling since August. The highest yield achieved this year was 7.51% in April and the lowest one was 7.20% achieved in October.
In the last auction of 12-month T-bills the yield was 7.95%, rising for the first time since early August. The highest yield this year was 8.23% in January and the lowest 7.92% in late October.
Bank of Albania has auctioned T-bills worth 311.29 billion leks in par value since the beginning of the year. Last year it auctioned T-bills worth 386.83 billion leks in par value. In 2006 it sold 460.13 billion leks worth of T-bills, compared to 465.2 billion leks in 2005.
