Albania Sells 6.4 Bln Leks (52 Mln Euro) in 12-mo T-Bills, Yields Fall

October 7 (SeeNews) - Albania’s central bank sold its entire offer of 6.4 billion leks ($70.6 million/52 million euro) in 12-month Treasury bills at an auction on Tuesday as yields fell.

The T-bills produced a weighted average yield of 7.95%, compared to 8.01% achieved in the previous auction held on September 29. Dealers had placed bids worth 7.34 billion leks, the central bank said in a stetement.

The Bank of Albania (www.bankofalbania.org) has auctioned 290.7 billion leks since the beginning of the year. Last year it auctioned 386.83 billion leks in par value. In 2006 it sold 460.13 billion leks worth of T-bills, compared to 465.2 billion leks in 2005.
