Albania Sells 16.7 Bln Leks (135 Mln Euro) in Two T-bill Issues, Yields Rise

December 16 (SeeNews) - Albania’s central bank on Tuesday sold 16.7 billion leks ($184.98 million/135.4 million euro) in two Treasury bill issues, as yields rose, the bank said.

The six-month T-bills produced a weighted average yield of 7.45%, up from 7.42% achieved in the previous auction on November 18.

The Bank of Albania sold 9.296 billion leks of six-month T-bills, up from the initial offer of 8.2 billion leks.

The 12-month T-bills produced a weighted average yield of 8.65%, up from 8.46% achieved in the previous auction held two weeks earlier.

The bank sold 7.40 billion leks worth of 12-month T-bills, down from the initial offer of 8.5 billion leks.

The Bank of Albania (www.bankofalbania.org) has auctioned 353 billion leks in T-bills since the beginning of the year. Last year it auctioned T-bills worth 386.83 billion leks in par value. In 2006 it sold 460.13 billion leks worth of T-bills, compared to 465.2 billion leks in 2005.
