December 4 (SeeNews) - Albania's central bank said on Friday it sold at an auction on Tuesday 10.5 billion leks ($115 million/76.3 million euro) in three-month and 12-month treasury bills as yields fell.
The central bank, which auctions government securities on behalf of the Finance Ministry, offered and sold 4.15 billion leks in three-month T-bills, as dealers placed bids worth 4.5 billion leks. The T-bills produced a weighted average yield of 6.31%, down from the 6.33% achieved in the previous auction held on November 3.
The bank sold the entire offer of 7.2 billion leks worth of 12-month T-bills, as dealers placed bids worth 11 billion leks. Yields edged down to 9.22% from 9.27% in the previous auction held on November 17.
The Bank of Albania has auctioned Treasury bills worth 348.42 billion leks since the beginning of this year. It auctioned T-bills worth 373 billion leks in par value last year, compared to 386.83 billion leks in 2007.
