March 29 (SeeNews) - Albania’s enterprise ministry said it has opened public consultation for a draft strategy for the development of startups and innovation-oriented companies in the country, involving initiatives with a total budget of 22 million euro ($24 million) to be implemented through 2030.
Initiatives target innovation in the energy and tourism sectors, information technologies, business process outsourcing and agribusiness, the ministry said in documents filed with the country’s e-consultation portal earlier this week.
The government plans to establish a new agency dedicated to strengthening the start-up ecosystem.
The strategy aims at strengthened governance and improving innovation infrastructure, as well as attracting alternative financing instruments, such as international funding.
The enterprise ministry accepts comments on the strategy until April 26.
