Agri goods' producer prices in Croatia fall 4.2% y/y in Q1

May 14 (SeeNews) - The average producer prices of agricultural goods in Croatia decreased by 4.2% on the year in the first quarter of 2024, but still were 36.6% higher compared to the average price for the whole of 2020, the statistical office said on Tuesday.

In January-March, the prices of crop products were 6.3% lower compared to the first three months of 2023, due to a 41.5% drop in the prices of cereals and an 18.2% decline in the prices of industrial plants, the Croatian Bureau of Statistics said in a quarterly report.

Producer prices of fresh vegetables went up 15.7% year-on-year in the first quarter, prices of flowers and plants increased 6.6%, prices of fruits surged 17.2%, while prices of wine rose 2.6% on the average.

The prices of livestock, poultry and animal products decreased by 2.7% on the year in the first quarter of 2024.

The prices of goods and services used in agriculture fell by 19.6% year-on-year in the period under review.
