The investment cost of the new MedEuropa radiotherapy centre required an investment of 15 million euro ($16.3 million), Affidea said in a press release on Tuesday.

"The successful acquisition of MedEuropa Romania and the opening of our new radiotherapy centre add to our growing network, reaching today 362 centres across 15 countries in Europe," said Guy Blomfield, Affidea Group CEO and board chairman.

Affidea Romania announced in March that it would acquire MedEuropa for an undisclosed price.

Established in 1991, Affidea Group entered Romania in 2002, where it currently operates 58 clinics.
