History

    Apr 4, 1947 – Chimimport is established as a state-owned trading company. Its main activity is import of chemical products.

    1950 – Chimimport starts exporting herbs, essential oils and plant raw materials.

    1959 – The company merges with local essential oil producing and trading company Balgarska Roza and begins exporting rose oil.

    1977 – Chimimport merges with foreign trade companies Neftochim and Lesoimpex to form foreign trade company Chimimport. The activities of the newly formed company include import, export and reexport of chemicals, raw materials for chemical production and natural gas.

    Jan 24, 1990 – Chimimport AD is registered as a joint-stock company with an authorised capital of BGL 10 mln.

    Oct 5, 1994 – The Bulgarian Privatisation Agency sells 58.7% of Chimimport to management-employee company Chimimport Invest AD.

    1995 – The shareholders' equity in Chimimport AD is distributed as follows: Chimimport Invest AD – 63.004%, Consolid Commerce OOD – 20.045%, individuals – 15.696%, other – 1.225%.

    Jan 21, 1998 – Chimimport AD transforms into a holding company.

    April 15, 2002 – Chimimport AD increases its subscribed capital to BGN 10 mln from BGN 3.5 mln.

    2002 – The company acquires the state stake in Central Cooperative Bank (CCB) AD, and later buys state insurer Darzhaven Zastrahovatelen Institut's stake in Bulgarian insurance company Armeec and the stake of Czech financial company Nuton in pension insurance company CCB Sila.

    2003 – Chimimport AD buys 49% of Hemus Air AD and 67% of Prouchvane i Dobiv na Neft i Gaz AD.

    2004 – Chimimport AD establishes the CCB Group Assets Management AD financial group, operating in the banking and insurance sector.

    2005 – The company sets up aviation carrier Balkan Hemus Group AD and trading company Chimimport Group AD as holding structures.

    Apr 10, 2006 – Chimimport raises its subscribed capital to BGN 118.9 mln from BGN 60 mln and starts a procedure of going public.

    Oct 30, 2006 – Chimimport AD lists on the Bulgarian Stock Exchange.

    2007 - The company acquires a 99.99% majority stake in the national airways Bulgaria Air AD.

    Feb 2, 2007 – Chimimport AD enters the official BSE index SOFIX, including the most liquid companies listed on the regulated markets of the BSE.

    Feb 26, 2007 - The holding is included in the new broader BSE index BG40, comprising the top 40 companies graded by the number of transactions executed in the last six months.

    Sept 3, 2007 – Chimimport AD is included in the new index BG Total Return 30 (BGTR30) on the BSE.

    Oct 12, 2007 – The company forms Zaharni Hrani Bulgaria, Sofia, Bulgaria by merging local agricultural companies Chimimport Agrochemicals OOD, Slanchevi Lachi Bulgaria (Sunny Rays Bulgaria) AD, Zarneni Hrani - Valchi Dol AD, Zarneni Hrani Trade AD, Bek International AD, Zora AD, Ruse, Bulgaria, Prima Agrochim OOD, Dobrich, Bulgaria and Zarneni Hrani Balchik AD.

    Nov 5, 2007 – Chimimport enters the new Dow Jones' blue-chip index - Dow Jones STOXX Balkan 50 Equal Weighted Index, including the 50 most liquid companies, listed on the stock exchanges on the Balkans.

    2017 - Chimimport AD sets up two indirect subsidiaries - hotel operator Rest and Fly EOOD and car rental company Rent Intercar EOOD.
