March 4 (SeeNews) - Romania's health ministry said on Wednesday that it has confirmed a new, sixth, case of the coronavirus infection in the country.
A 71-year old man who was admitted to hospital with fever has tested positive for the virus and has been isolated in a hospital in Suceava, in the northern part of the country, the ministry said in a press release.
He will be moved to a hospital in Iasi. His condition is stable, according to the ministry.
The man returned from Lombardy at the end of February.
Also on Wednesday, a 16-year old boy who tested positive for the virus was isolated in a hospital in Timisoara, in the west of the country, in a good health condition.
The boy has been in contact with a 47-year old man who tested positive for the virus on Tuesday.
The man, for his part, had been in contact with a woman diagnosed with the new coronavirus, who had recently returned from Italy.
One of the six Romanians who have been diagnosed with the coronavirus infection has been cured and was discharged from hospital, according to the health ministry.
As of Wednesday, 35 people were in quarantine in Romania, while the condition of 10,094 people staying at home was being monitored, according to health ministry data.
