March 2 (SeeNews) - Sofia mayor Yordanka Fandakova said on Friday the municipality is due to sign shortly a contract for the delivery of 20 electric buses for the needs of the city's urban transport.
The buses will be delivered by the end of this year, Fandakova said during the E-mobility and The Future of Urban Transport Forum, held in Sofia.
The municipality's investment strategy envisages the supply of 30 electric buses within the next two or three years, Sofia's deputy mayor for transport, Evgeni Krusev, said during the conference.
In August, Sofia municipality opened an 18.5 million levs ($11.6 million/9.5 million euro) tender for the supply of 30 electric buses.
