February 21 (SeeNews) - Romanian online travel agency Vola.ro said on Wednesday its turnover increased by 13% on the year to 6.5 million euro ($8.02 million) in 2017.
In 2017, the volume of sales of air travel tickets on Vola.ro increased by 19% compared to 2016, the company said in a press release.
"The fact that Vola.ro has achieved two-digit growth every year since its founding means that we are useful to our clients and that our efforts to offer them varied destinations, good prices and prompt and high quality support have been appreciated," Vola.ro CEO, Daniel Truica, said.
The average price of a plane ticket sold on Vola-ro platfrom was 134 euro in 2017. The most expensive ticket cost 7,400 euro for a Tokyo - Bucharest - Tokyo flight. The cheapest ticket that Vola.ro sold in 2017 was for a Milan-Bucharest flight, 2.98 euro.
Most of the tourists who purchased plane tickets from Vola.ro chose to travel with Wizz Air, Tarom, Blue Air, Ryanair, Lufthansa group or Air France KLM. The most popular destinations in 2017 were Italy, the UK, Germany, Spain, France, Belgium, Greece, Switzerland and Portugal.
Vola.ro was founded in 2007 in Romania. The company is also present in Poland, Ukraine and Vietnam.
