January 11 (SeeNews) - The number of foreign tourists who visited Bosnia in the eleven months through November grew 18% on the year, reaching 877,092, according to official data from the country's statistical office.
The total number of tourists staying in the country in the eleven-month period increased by 14% year-on-year to 1,224,477, data posted on the website of Bosnia's Agency for Statistics showed.
Total tourist overnights in January-November increased to 2,523,545, up 12% year-on-year. Of them, foreign tourist overnights accounted for 72%, or 1,821,939, up 16% on the year.
Visitors from Croatia accounted for 11% of all foreign tourist overnights in the first eleven months of 2017, followed by visitors from Serbia with 7.9% and Turkey with 7.4%, respectively.
In 2016, the number of foreign tourists who visited Bosnia grew by 15% year-on-year, reaching 776,889, while the total number of tourists staying in the country increased by 12% to 1.15 million.
