April 3 (SeeNews) - Croatia's consumer prices increased by 4.1% on the year in March, after rising at the same rate in both February and January, the statistical office said in a first estimate on Wednesday.
On a monthly comparison basis, Croatia's consumer price index (CPI) rose 0.9% in March, after adding 0.2% in February, the Bureau of Statistics said.
In March, prices of food, beverages, and tobacco rose by 4.7% year-on-year. Service costs increased by 6.6%, industrial non-food products (excluding energy) saw a 2.5% rise, while energy prices grew 1.4%.
The statistical office will release final inflation data for March on April 16.
Measured by the EU-harmonised index of consumer prices (HICP), prices of goods and services for personal consumption in Croatia increased by an average 4.9% year-on-year in March. On a monthly comparison basis, HICP rose by an estimated 0.9% in March.
Croatia reported a 4.8% annual rise and a 0.3% monthly increase in HICP in February.
Croatia's average annual inflation slowed down to 8% last year from 10.8% in 2022.
