December 6 (SeeNews) - Twelve bidders are vying to win a public procurement tender worth 75.5 million levs ($40.5 million/38.6 million euro) for the overhaul of two tunnels on a section of Hemus motorway, which will eventually connect the capital Sofia to the Black Sea city of Varna, Bulgaria's Road Infrastructure Agency (RIA) said on Tuesday.
Three of the bids in the tender, which is divided in two lots, were filed by tie-ups, the government agency said in a press release.
The investor groups include as members Bulgarian contractor companies GP Group JSC, Avtomagistrali, GBS-Infrastructure construction and Evropeiski Patishta. Other local companies, including Trace Group Hold [BUL:T57], Ors Infrastructure, Isa 2000 and Geostroy, are running on their own in the tender.
The first lot, which attracted six bids, covers the repair of the Topli Dol tunnel at the 39th kilometre of the motorway. The indicative value is 35.7 million levs excluding value added tax (VAT) and the stipulated duration of the works is 18 months.
The second lot, also with six bidders, is worth 39.8 million levs. It relates to the repair of Praveshki Hanove tunnel located ar the 54th kilometre of the motorway. Work on that tunnel needs to be completed also within 18 months.
