January 26 (SeeNews) - Hungarian low-cost carrier Wizz Air said on Thursday that it will start operating twice-weekly direct flights between Bulgaria's capital Sofia and Yerevan, the capital of Armenia, on April 29.
Flights on the route will initially be operated on Wednesdays and Sundays, before moving to Tuesdays and Saturdays from June 12, the airline said in a press release.
The new route increases to 61 Wizz Air's services to and from Sofia, in 21 countries, the company added.
The low-cost carrier entered the Bulgarian market in 2005. In December last year, Wizz Air added a seventh aircraft to its base in Sofia and announced two new routes linking the Bulgarian capital to Hamburg, Germany and Stockholm, Sweden.
