December 9 (SeeNews) - Croatian textile company Varteks [ZSE:VART-R-1] led the gainers among the blue chips on the Zagreb Stock Exchange (ZSE) on Friday, bourse data showed.
Varteks shares closed 6.88% higher at 16.78 kuna ($2.3/2.2 euro), as 804 changed hands.
Hrvatski Telekom [ZSE:HT-R-A] generated the highest trading turnover of 2.1 million kuna on Friday, as 12,107 of the company shares were traded. Its shares closed down 0.56% at 171.14 kuna.
Croatian confectionery producer Kras [ZSE:KRAS-R-A] led the blue-chip decliners, as its share price fell by 2.72% to 525.57 kuna.
The bourse's total trading turnover decreased to 6.7 million kuna on Friday from 8.4 million kuna on Thursday.
The 25-share benchmark CROBEX index of the ZSE dropped 0.29% to 1,982.98 points, after edging up 0.01% on Thursday.
The narrower of the bourse's two blue-chip indices, the CROBEX10, which tracks the leading companies in terms of free float, market capitalisation and liquidity, lost 0.47% to 1,153.65 points after dropping 0.06% in the previous trading session.
The fixed-income CROBIS index rose 0.11% to 109.2823 points.
