LJUBLJANA (Slovenia), March 4 (SeeNews) – Slovenian state-run company 2TDK has received two financial offers in its tender for the first phase of the construction of a second track of the Divaca-Koper railway line, it said on Thursday.
A consortium comprising Austria's Strabag, Germany's Ed. Zublin and Turkey's Gulermak placed a 463.5 million euro ($558.2 million) offer, while a consortium comprising Slovenia's Kolektor CPG, and Turkey's Yapi Merkezi and Ozaltin submitted an offer of 403.6 million euro, 2TDK said in a statement.
Both offers are below the limit of 472 million euro set for the project and are considered to be valid, 2TDK said.
The first phase of the project concerns the construction of the Divaca-Crni Kal section of the 27.1 km-long railway.
In October, 2TDK said it shortlisted four bidders in the tender. Besides the two consortia that placed financial offers, the list also included a consortium of Slovenian companies Gorenjska Gradbena Druzba and CGP and Czech company Metrostav; and Turkey's Cengiz.
Luka Koper, the company operating Slovenia's Adriatic port of Koper, said in April it expects that the second railway track to Divaca will begin operations in 2026.
