May 6 (SeeNews) - Turkish defence systems manufacturer Aselsan Elektronik Sanayi ve Ticaret AS [IST:ASELS] said on Wednesday it has signed a deal with Bahrain for the supply of remotely controlled weapon systems.
Bahrain will use the remote-controlled weapon systems for naval purposes, Aselsan said in a Twitter post.
The value of the deal was not disclosed.
Aselsan intends to increase its investments and activities in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) member states and Bahrain in particular, Turkey's Anadolu Agency reported.
Aselsan, a subsidiary of the Turkish Armed Forces Foundation, develops and manufactures software, equipment, systems and platforms for the army, navy, air force and aerospace industries.
The company in April signed two contracts for the supply of remotely controlled weapon systems to Kazakhstan and an undisclosed NATO member state.
