April 9 (SeeNews) - Turkish holding company Yildirim has asked for approval to acquire assets of North Macedonia's ferronickel producer Euronickel Industries, former Feni Industries, currently in ownership of local lender Komercijalna Banka [MSE:KMB], the country's Commission for Protection of Competition (CPC) said on Tuesday.

Yildirim is also looking to buy assets of Pehcevo-based refractory plant Nova Refractories, also in ownership of Komercijalna Banka, the CPC said in a notice.

The public can submit comments on the proposed transactions within ten days from the announcement.

Kingmen Refractories and Double Eagle Nickel, local subsidiaries of Yildirim established for these transactions, signed agreements with Komercijalna Banka on March 22 for the acquisition of the assets, the CPC added.

Komercijalna Banka said in December it has acquired ownership of assets worth 37.9 million euro ($41.2 million) of Euronickel Industries through a procedure for forced collection of claims. Komercijalna Banka is the main creditor of Euronickel Industries, which entered bankruptcy proceedings in early February.
