November 18 (SeeNews) - Spanish delivery startup Glovo said on Monday it has launched its service in Romania's western city of Arad and plans to enter three more cities by this year's end.
Arad is the ninth Romanian city where Glovo operates, after Bucharest, Cluj-Napoca, Timisoara, Iasi, Brasov, Craiova, Constanta and Sibiu, the company said in a press release.
Glovo said it has has entered into partnerships with restaurants, supermarkets, cosmetics stores and florists in Arad in order to diversify its offer locally.
Glovo entered Romania in May 2018 by launching operations in Bucharest.
So far, Romanians have ordered about 5 million products by using the Glovo app, with Restaurants, Supermarket and Fast Courier being the most popular categories locally.
Glovo was founded in Barcelona in 2015 as an on-demand courier service that purchases, picks up, and delivers products ordered through its mobile application. It now operates in over 257 cities in 33 countries and employs over 2,300 people globally.
