May 28 (SeeNews) - The Bulgarian Stock Exchange blue-chip SOFIX index extended its winning run to five consecutive winning sessions, as lender First Investment Bank (Fibank) [BUL:5F4] gained most among blue chips for a second trading session in a row.
The SOFIX, which tracks 15 stocks, closed 0.19% higher at 453.76 points on Thursday.
Fibank's share price rose 2.99% on Thursday, following a 5.51% rise on Wednesday.
Other major gainers on Thursday were poultry producer resort operator Albena [BUL:6AB] and diversified group Doverie United Holding [BUL:5DOV], which added 2.76% and 1.15%, respectively.
The wider BGBX40 index, which tracks the 40 most traded shares on the Sofia bourse, rose 0.37% to 96.48 points, while the BGTR30 index, in which companies with a free float of at least 10% have equal weight, advanced 0.21% to 467.19 points.
The BGREIT index, which tracks seven real estate investment trusts, erased 0.11% to 133.14 points.
Total regulated market trading turnover amounted was much higher than usual, and amounted to 5.6 million levs ($3.2 million/2.9 million euro) on Thursday. This was largely due to deals in shares in Velgraf Asset Management [BUL:1VX] and Super Borovetz Property Fund REIT [BUL:6SB], which formed a turnover of 2 million levs and 1 million levs, respectively.
