LJUBLJANA (Slovenia), August 22 (SeeNews) – Slovenia’s consumer confidence indicator fell by 2 percentage points on a monthly comparison basis in August, after decreasing by 1 p.p. in July, the country's statistical office said on Thursday.
The consumer confidence indicator fell in August due to more pessimistic expectations about the number of unemployed (down by 6 p.p.), the statistical office said in a monthly consumer sentiment survey.
Expectations about the country’s economy also deteriorated (by 5 p.p.), while expectations about savings and households' finances improved (up by 4 and 1 p.p., respectively).
On an annual comparison basis, the value of the consumer confidence indicator was 3 p.p. lower in August.
Among its components, consumer expectations about the number of unemployed and the country’s economy worsened the most (by 7 and 4 p.p., respectively), while the expectations about households' finances decreased more moderately (by 2 p.p.). On the other hand, expectations about savings improved by 5 p.p.
