February 6 (SeeNews) - Slovenia's consumer prices rose by 1.1% year-on-year in January, after growing by 1.4% in December, the country's statistical office said on Wednesday.
The largest upward push on annual inflation in January - by 0.3 p.p. - came from higher prices of group of electricity, gas and other fuels, where prices of heat energy increased the most (by 17.5%), the statistical office said in a statement.
Prices of equipment for sport increased by 15.2% and prices of package holidays rose by 5.1%.
Annual inflation was pushed down the most, by 0.3 p.p., by a drop in prices of motor cars (by 2.4%), petrol (by 7.5%) and diesel (by 2.8%.)
On a monthly comparison basis, Slovenia's consumer prices fell by 1.1% in January, after edging down 0.6% in December.
Measured by the EU's harmonised index of consumer prices, Slovenia's annual inflation slowed to 1.2% in January, from 1.7% a year earlier, while monthly HICP edged down 0.9%.
