September 1 (SeeNews) - Slovenia's consumer prices grew by 2.1% year-on-year in August, after rising by 2.0% in July, the country's statistical office said.
On a monthly comparison basis, consumer prices rose by 0.1% in August, following a 0.4% increase in July, the statistical office said in a statement on Tuesday.
In annual terms, the largest upward impact on the annual inflation, 1.2 percentage points, came from higher prices of petroleum products, as diesel prices increased by 29.6%, petrol prices by 26% and liquid fuels prices by 21.6%. Higher prices in the group restaurants and hotels by 3.7% added 0.3 of a percentage point (pp) to the annual inflation.
On the other hand, the inflation was pushed down by the lower prices of package holidays, which contributed 0.4 pp.
In monthly terms, inflation was pushed up the most, by 0.1 pp, by the higher prices of other services in respect of personal transport equipment, up 3.6%.
In the first eight months of 2021, the CPI went up by 1.0%.
Measured by the EU's harmonised index of consumer prices (HICP), Slovenia recorded annual inflation of 2.1% in August.
