March 7 (SeeNews) - Dusan Bajatovic, director general at state-owned monopoly Srbijagas, said that the price of natural gas for households will increase after May 1, local media reported on Tuesday.
The price of gas will not increase by more than 10%, public television RTS quoted Bajatovic as saying at the Kopaonik Business Forum conference.
“There must be an increase in the price of gas, certainly once, and probably twice before the end of the year,” said Bajatovic.
The current price of natural gas for households is 3.78 dinars ($0.034/0.032 euro) per KWh, following an increase by 11% in January, according to data from the Energy Agency of Serbia (AERS).
Serbia's annual consumer price inflation sped up to 15.8% in January, from 15.1% in December, the national statistical office said earlier this month.
