February 16 (SeeNews) - Romania's road infrastructure company, CNAIR, signed three contracts worth a total 4.68 billion lei ($1 billion/956 million euro) with a local tie-up led by Spedition UMB for the construction of the Bacau - Pascani motorway section.
The works envisaged in each contract should be completed within 30 months and will have a warranty of ten years, CNAIR general director Cristian Pistol said in a social media post.
The 77.4-kilometre section is part of the A7 motorway which will link the southern city of Ploiesti with the eastern city of Pascani.
In addition to Spedition UMB, the consortium includes local companies SA&PE Construct and Tehnostrade. All three companies are part of the UMB Group.
Founded in 1997, Spedition UMB booked a net profit of 29.7 million lei on a 1.33 billion lei turnover in 2021. It employed 42 people and the end of 2021, latest available data from the finance ministry shows.
SA&PE Construct was founded in 2013. It booked a net profit of 7.8 million lei on a turnover of 1 billion lei in 2021, according to finance ministry data. The company had 14 employees at the end of the 2021.
Tehnostrade was established in 2004. In 2021, it posted a net profit of 143 million lei and a turnover of 1.22 billion lei. The company had a staff of 2,259 at the end of 2021.
