June 7 (SeeNews) - Three of the four Bulgarian stock indices closed in red territory on Wednesday, although the benchmark SOFIX index climbed 0.21% to 681.64 points, bourse data showed.
The SOFIX performance was due to a 2.21% rise in IoT products maker Allterco [BUL:A4L] to 27.80 levs. Allterco was also the top stock by turnover, generating over a third of the total main market amount with 7,477 shares changing hands.
Total turnover on the main market of the BSE slumped to 594,314 levs ($325,311/303,868 euro) on Wednesday after coming in at 2.95 million levs on Tuesday.
Fertiliser maker Neochim [BUL:NEOH] paced the blue-chip losers with a 2.03% drop to 38.70 levs, after announcing that it will begin planned annual maintenance without resuming operations since a technical glitch two months ago forced a production halt across four units.
The loss at Neochim, along with a 2.00% slip in M+S Hydraulic [BUL:MSH] to 9.80 levs pushed down the the BGTR30 index, in which companies with a free float of at least 10% have equal weight. The BGTR30 closed 0.08% lower at 754.92 points.
The broader BGBX40 index, which tracks the 40 most traded shares on the Sofia bourse, inched down 0.01% to 150.01 points, constrained by a deepening loss at Bulgarian River Shipping [BUL:BRP] of 9.94% to 0.725 levs. The index's performance was further weakened by a 2.27% decline at Alcomet [BUL:ALCM] to 8.60 levs. Advances in Chimimport [BUL:CHIM] and Korado-Bulgaria [BUL:KBG], of 1.97% and 1.41% respectively, managed to keep the BGBX40's decline to a minimum.
Finally, the BGREIT index, which tracks seven real estate investment trusts, retreated 0.12% to 190.21 points, as Bulgarian Real Estate Fund REIT [BUL:BREF] dipped 0.91% to 2.18 levs.
