September 23 (SeeNews) - Hungarian low-cost carrier Wizz Air said on Wednesday it will launch four new international flights from the Bulgarian capital Sofia next May.
The company will fly three times a week from Sofia to Madrid, Paris, Frankfurt and Bologna on May 22, it said in a statement.
The company will add a new Airbus A320 to its operating base in Sofia in May 2010 which will also allow it raise the number of flights from Sofia to Eindhoven in the Netherlands and Valencia in Spain to three and four times a week, respectively.
Wizz Air plans to serve more than 500,000 passengers this year and 750,000 passengers next year to and from the Black Sea country. The company performs flights also from the Black Sea city of Varna to Sofia and London and seasonal flights to the city of Burgas, also on the Bulgarian Black Sea coast.
Wizz Air also operating bases in Katowice, Warsaw, Gdansk and Poznan in Poland, Hungary's Budapest, and Romania's Bucharest. It serves nearly 50 destinations.
