April 11 (SeeNews) - The European Commission and the Council of Europe (CoE) will provide a total of 25 million euro ($28.5 million) to the Western Balkans and Turkey to help them address challenges in the rule of law and human rights, the European Commission said on Monday.
The joint initiative will support reforms of the judiciary, fight against corruption and organised crime, protection of the rights of vulnerable groups and the promotion of anti-discrimination policies, the European Commission said in a statement.
The European Commission will provide 20 million euro and the Council of Europe will come up with 5 million euro to support the initiative for the period of three years.
