April 29 (SeeNews) - Serbia will build a 12.4 million euro ($13.3 million) wastewater collection and treatment system in the eastern spa town of Sokobanja, the government said.
The EU will provide 6.3 million euro to the project and Serbia will contribute the remainder, water management minister Jelena Tanaskovic said in a press release last week after signing a financing agreement with the head of the EU delegation to Serbia, Emmanuel Giaufret.
The implementation of this project will reduce pollution of Gradasnica and Moravica rivers, as well as the Bovan lake located downstream, which is used as a source of water for the southern municipality of Aleksinac.
