February 14 (SeeNews) - The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) adopted a new country strategy for Kosovo for the 2022-2027 period, focusing on the development of the private sector, transition to the green economy and regional integration and connectivity, it said.
"Our new country strategy marks a new era of engagement for the EBRD in Kosovo. We share the same priorities as the government to create more opportunities in the private sector for all citizens, to weather the current energy crisis and move forward with green transition, and to speed up infrastructure projects such as the railway and wastewater treatment," Neil Taylor, EBRD Head of Kosovo, said in a statement on Friday.
The EBRD's has been active in Kosovo since 1999, but the country became a full country of operations in 2012. The bank has invested 583 million euro ($661.5 million) in Kosovo to date.
