May 8 (SeeNews) - Croatian defence minister and deputy prime minister Damir Krsticevic said he has submitted his resignation after two pilots died in a military plane crash on Thursday.
A thorough investigation will be carried out to establish the reasons for the accident, Krsticevic told a news conference late on Thursday. A video file with his statement was uploaded on the website of state broadcaster HRT.
Earlier on Thursday lieutenant Marko Novkovic, aged 31, and cadet lieutenant Luka Jagatic, 25, died in a military training plane crash at Biljane Donje, close to the Adriatic city of Zadar.
According to HRT, Krsticevic will discuss his resignation with prime minister Andrej Plenkovic on Friday.
