June 6 (SeeNews) - Croatia's transport ministry said it is set to select next month the winner in a tender for a consultant on a project for introduction of an electronic tolling system in the country.
After receiving bids from four candidates, the tender commission opened two of them which satisfied the technical conditions - a joint proposal from Ernst & Young Consulting Croatia and Ernst & Young GmbH Germany, and a bid from Spain's IDOM Consulting, the transport ministry said in a statement earlier this week.
IDOM Consulting offered its services for 875,526.43 euro ($1 million), while Ernst & Young sought 1.1 million euro.
The final decision on the selection of a consultant will be made in early July.
The successful contractor is expected to design a new tolling system which is contactless and cashless.
The other bidders in the tender were MultiContract Consulting from Hungary and CGI Czech Republic.
An electronic tolling system is expected to help speed up travel on Croatian motorways.
