April 6 (SeeNews) - Bulgaria's electricity production rose 21.3% year-on-year to 15,231 GWh from January 1 to April 3, data by the country's Electricity System Operator (ESO) showed.
Domestic power consumption rose 3.2% on the year in the review period reaching 11,653 GWh, according to data published in ESO's weekly newsletter.
Bulgaria's power trade surplus jumped 183.1% in the year to date to 3,578 GWh compared to the same period last year.
The volume of renewable energy in the transmission network went up by an annual 22.1% to 438.6 GWh. The volume of renewable energy in the distribution system rose by 20.2% to 593.4 GWh.
The output of hydro power plants dropped 32.8% year-on-year to 1,125 GWh.
