June 5 (SeeNews) - Bulgaria’s electricity production dropped by 21.95% year-on-year to 18,033 GWh from January 1 to June 4, the Electricity System Operator (ESO) said on Monday.
Domestic power consumption in the country went down by an annual 5.21% to 16,597 GWh, ESO said in its latest weekly newsletter.
Bulgaria's power trade surplus sank by 74.34% on the year to 1,436 GWh in the review period.
At the same time, the volume of renewable energy in the transmission network jumped by 23.44%, reaching 855.5 GWh, while the volume of renewable energy in the distribution system slipped by 2.56% to 973.3 GWh.
The output of hydropower plants fell by 25.75% to some 1,427 GWh in annual terms, data showed.
