February 21 (SeeNews) - Bulgaria's Black Sea port of Burgas expects a 5.6% increase of processed cargo volumes in 2017, as compared to 450,000 tonnes handled in 2016, the port operator said on Tuesday.
There is a trend for an increase in bulk cargo volumes at the expense of general cargo, a Port of Burgas EAD press officer told SeeNews by phone.
In 2016, 29% of all cargo processed at Burgas port was general cargo and 71% was bulk cargo.
Port of Burgas is part of the trans-European transport network.
