July 4 (SeeNews) - Bulgaria's Food Safety Agency said that it confirmed on Tuesday a second outbreak of African swine fever in domestic pigs.
The disease was found in a farm in the village of Zhernov, near the Danube River, the Food Safety Agency said in statement on Wednesday.
Two of the farm's fourteen pigs were found dead. The remaining pigs will be culled.
The agency has set up a three-kilometre prevention zone and a ten-kilometre surveillance zone around the farm.
In February, the Food Safety Agency said that it has confirmed a case of African swine fever in a wild boar near the town of Devnya, in northeastern Bulgaria.
