DNEVNIK
- Two Armenian nationals, Gagik and Javair Tsaroukyan, have bought Bulgarian mineral water bottler Gorna Banya for 25 million euro in a deal sealed last week, according to data of the country's Commercial Registry. Twenty million euro of the deal price will go for debt repayments.
- Bulgaria expects concession royalties payable by water bottling companies to double to some 4.0 million levs this year following a change in the relevant legislation, Asen Lichev, head of water use department with the Environmental Ministry, said.
- The number of franchisers in Bulgaria has tripled over the last two years to 86 at the moment and is expected to rise to 138 next year, Svetoslav Bilyarski, manager of local franchising intermediary Franchising.bg, said. The number of franchised outlets currently totals 1,478 and is expected to reach 2,156 at end-2009 and to exceed 2,900 by the end of next year.
SEGA
- Bulgaria will probably witness a swine flu outbreak in two to three weeks, the head of the Health Ministry's infectious diseases department, Angel Kunchev, said. The country will buy 180,000 vaccines to combat the spread of the disease.
