December 23 (SeeNews) - Following are some of the main stories in Bulgarian newspapers on Wednesday morning. SeeNews has not verified these reports and cannot vouch for their accuracy.

- The Bulgarian government will sign an agreement for the repayment of its debt to construction companies with the Bulgarian Construction Chamber. By the end of March 2010 the government will pay all of debt to those companies, Regional Development Minister Rosen Plevneliev said.
- The European Commission considers extending funding under its ISPA pre-accession aid programme to Bulgaria after 2010 only for projects where the utilization of the aid is over 100 million euro. Majour infrastructure projects such as Lyulin motorway, designed to link the capital with Bulgaria's western and southwestern regions and a railroad linking the city of Plovdiv with Svilengrad, at the border with Turkey are endangered of loosing their EU aid if an extention of the funding is not agreed. The construction of a bridge over the Danube river linking Bulgaria and Romania is also endangered as the EU funding there is only 70 million euro

- Japan and Spain have inquired the cabinet in Sofia about purchasing some of Bulgaria’s quotas of greenhouse gas emissions agreed under the Kyoto Protocol.
- Retirement age in Bulgaria is scheduled to rise to 65 years for boths men and women by 2022 the latest, Bulgaria’s Labour and Social Affairs Minister Totyu Mladenov.
