April 10 (SeeNews) - London-based tour operator Balkan Holidays has announced an additional flight from Humberside Airport to Bulgaria's coastal city of Burgas as part of its summer 2019 schedule, the council of North Lincolnshire, where the airport is located, said.
"This is great news and demonstrates a firm commitment by Balkan Holidays to invest in Humberside Airport. Bulgaria is a great place to visit and I welcome more visitors to North Lincolnshire,” councillor Rob Waltham, leader of North Lincolnshire Council, said in a statement last week.
The new flight will be launched on May 19, 2019 and will be operated on Sundays. Balkan Holidays currently offers one flight per week from Humberside to Burgas, a gateway to the resorts on Bulgaria's southern Black Sea coast.
“Our holidays to Bulgaria, with their mix of high quality and low prices, have proved to be so popular from Humberside over the last few years it was only natural to add an extra flight for summer 2019," Chris Rand, sales and marketing manager at Balkan Holidays, said.
Last month, England's Durham Tees Valley Airport (DTVA) announced that Balkan Holidays will launch flights from DTVA to Bulgaria's Burgas.
Balkan Holidays focuses on resorts in Bulgaria, Croatia, Montenegro, Slovenia, Macedonia and Romania.
