April 15 (SeeNews) - Bulgaria's annual consumer price inflation accelerated to 3.6% in March, from 3.2% in the previous month, the National Statistical Institute (NSI) said on Monday.
On a monthly comparison basis, consumer prices rose by 0.1% in March, after adding 0.5% in February, NSI data indicated.
Prices of food and non-alcoholic beverages, which have the largest weight in the consumer basket, added 5.6% year-on-year in March, while prices of housing, water, electricity, gas and other fuels rose 4.6%.
Prices in the transport segment increased 2.4% year-on-year in March.
Bulgaria’s EU-harmonised consumer price index (HICP) added 2.8% on the year in March and was 0.2% higher compared to February.
