January 14 (SeeNews) - Croatia's economy ministry is in talks with a few potential buyers of troubled shipyard Uljanik, as two serious investors are looking into a possible deal, the government said on Sunday.
The public will be informed by January 25 if a strategic investor has decided to back financially the company, the government said on its website, quoting economy minister Darko Horvat.

The economy minister also said that the data room at the company remains open, as a meeting will be held with another potential investor later this week.
The Uljanik Group comprises two major shipyards - Uljanik and 3. Maj, along with smaller subsidiaries. The group has been in financial trouble for some time due to the adverse effects of the global financial crisis on the shipbuilding sector in general which has led to a drop in orders for new vessels.
