SOFIA (Bulgaria), August 3 (SeeNews) – Trading in the shares of four companies generated 79% of the turnover on the Bulgarian Stock Exchange (BSE) on Thursday, bourse data showed.
Total trading turnover on the Sofia bourse jumped to 32.7 million levs ($19.8 million/16.7 million euro) on Thursday from 13 million levs on Wednesday.
Trade in shares of Velgraf Asset Management [BUL:1VX], Galata Investment Company [BUL:GTH], Balkan and Sea Properties [BUL:5H4], Holding Varna [BUL:5V2] generated a combined turnover of over 25.7 million levs on Thursday's trading session.
Velgraf Asset Management [BUL:1VX] generated the largest turnover on Thursday, of 7.61 million levs, as 2.27 million shares of the company changed hands at an average price of 3.356 levs per share. Among the blue-chip companies, Holding Varna [BUL:5V2] was the most traded firm, as 188,804 of its shares changed hands at an average price of 33.5 levs apiece.
The blue-chip SOFIX index rose 0.70% to 720.14 points, after increasing 0.26% on Wednesday.
The broader BGBX40 index, which tracks the 40 most traded shares on the BSE, grew by 0.72% to 136.21 points, after losing 0.18% on Wednesday.
The BG-REIT index, which tracks the performance of real estate investment trusts, added 1.95% to 116.44 points on Thursday. On Wednesday, the index dropped by 0.79%.
The BG TotalReturn30 index, in which companies with a free float of at least 10% have equal weight, increased 0.91% to 553.28 points, after edging down 0.14% on Wednesday.
Bulgarian fertilizer producer Neochim [BUL:3NB] led the blue-chip gainers on Thursday, closing 5.75% higher at 59.750 levs in a trading volume of 80 shares.
Hydraulic equipment manufacturer M+S Hydraulic [BUL:5MH] fell the most among blue chips, as it closed 3.92% lower at 8.310 levs. A total of 24 shares in the diversified group were traded on Thursday.
