October 12 (SeeNews) - Flag carrier Turkish Airlines said on Monday it will resume its daily service from the Bulgarian capital Sofia to Turkey's Istanbul, starting October 25, thus increasing the current weekly frequency to eight flights from five.
The airline will operate Sofia-Istanbul flights in the early morning hours on Wednesdays, Saturdays and Sundays, and in the evening hours on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and Sundays, it said in an e-mailed statement.
Turkish Airlines resumed its service to and from Sofia on July 1, after a suspension of over two months due to restrictions imposed to prevent the spread of the coronavirus disease.
In March, Turkey's president Recep Tayyip Erdogan ordered the suspension of all international flights to and from the country in an effort to contain the coronavirus outbreak.
Turkish Airlines restarted international flights from Istanbul on June 10.
