May 13 (SeeNews) - Turkey's current account deficit shrank to $15.9 billion (12.3 billion euro) in the first quarter of 2013 from $16.3 billion a year ago, the country's central bank said on Monday.
Foreign trade deficit increased to $17.04 billion from $16.78 billion, balance of payments data from the central bank showed. Net services income rose to $2.87 billion from $2.05 billion a year earlier.
In March alone, Turkey's current account gap widened to $5.4 billion from $4.9 billion in February.
