October 13 (SeeNews) - Slovenian steel producer Slovenska Industrija Jekla (SIJ) has restarted production activities at its stainless steel unit SIJ Acroni after an accident caused suspension of output in July, SIJ said.
The damage to the main motor of the rolling frame at the SIJ Acroni factory was repaired in three months, which is in line with the original estimates, SIJ said in a statement earlier this week.
The suspension of production operations at SIJ Acroni caused by the accident will have an adverse impact on the operating result of SIJ, the group said.
On July 13, an accident caused a major damage to the main engine of the rolling frame in the hot rolling mill of SIJ Acroni. There were no injured people during the accident.
The SIJ Group is the largest vertically integrated metallurgical group in Slovenia, occupying leading positions on European and global niche steel markets.
