November 21 (SeeNews) - Slovenian brewer Pivovarna Lasko Union (PLU) plans to halt the production of soft drinks under the Sola brand and the bottling of Zala mineral water at the end of November, the company said.
Under the terms of the agreement for the sale of Sola and Zala to local company Nika Bev signed in January, the licensed production of the brands ends in November, but PLU will continue bearing responsibility for their distribution in Slovenia, PLU said in a statement last week.

PLU offered other positions in the company to the 170 employees engaged in the production of Sola and bottling of Zala at the Ljubljana factory and will provide a severance pay to workers who do not accept the proposal, PLU said.
With the sale of the brands, PLU aims to reduce production complexity and streamline operations, focusing on delivering sustainable growth in brewing and distribution, it said in a statement back in January.
According to data from Slovenia's trade register, the entire capital of Nika Bev is owned by Croatian citizen Nina-Christina Stanic, marketing manager at Croatian beverages company Stanic Group.
